how brain sync began
The inspiring story of how Kelly built the phenomenon called Brain Sync began by “accident.” A devastating car crash on a snowy Christmas Eve in New York City started an assault of tragic events that brought her life to a screeching halt. She lost all her anchors – her marriage, her job, her health, and her mother to cancer. She was 22 years old.
To overcome incessant negative thinking, Kelly recorded a series of life affirming meditations into a tape recorder and listened to them before bed. The meditations lulled her to sleep, providing an unusual and powerful source of comfort. But something else happened. A sequence of surprising coincidences literally turned her life around.
Intrigued by the astonishingly rapid results, Kelly began what has become a lifelong exploration into what is possible through re-patterning thoughts and balancing the brain. She developed her unique brand of audio technology through years of dedicated research and by making personalized tapes for herself, friends, clients and eventually medical professionals.
In 1986, Bantam launched their audio division with a series of subliminal self-help audio programs by Kelly and her partner Alyson Daniels under the name Audio Activation. Slim Forever became an overnight bestseller, and to this day, remains one of Bantam Audio’s bestselling titles. She also co-authored the Supermind Series, published by Random House.
Kelly went on to further develop Brainwave Therapy by collaborating with biofeedback therapists and neuroscientists in San Francisco creating programs for clinical application treating depression, insomnia, obesity, ADHD and addiction. The clinical feedback was so positive that in 1991 she launched Brain Sync to make her audio technology available to medical professionals, and then to the general public.
